Is there some basic rules with Christmas tunes?
Or what makes a song "christmas" song?
What is the hihat that is usually used in christmas songs?
And any suggestions of some trancey/disco/electro christmas songs?
I bet there are some?

they need to be circa 1970 and earlier...i hate that diva christmas thats come out from the 90's to current. Nothing to me feels like christmas except the classics...the only reason why classic christmas songs sound christmas like is because they've been embedded into the collective psyche as such, and that can only be determined over decades, not in a recording studio.
for a cool twist on the classics though, check out 'christmas remixed' on amazon...its basically all the great tunes you've awoke to on christmas morning, except with some bass that might inspire you to play it in your car :toothless |

Christmas songs are usually about Christmas. That is, Christmas songs mention Christmas at least once, and are released around Christmas. Not after Christmas. Christmas is about Christmas. Christmas. Christmas. Christmas. ... |
