The Montreal party is actually on January 1st and he is DJing in NYC on the 31st.
Last year Tiesto played in Montreal after NY and was really late... so this was their way of preventing the situation...
So Im not too sure whats happening in Montreal NYE |
There are no major headliners in MTL this year on the 31st.
I'll be there on the 1st, hopefully it will be something fun. |

That link didn't help to expand on what you were trying to say. I'm quite aware of the origins of psytrance on the beaches of Goa in the late 1980s. What is it that you are trying to say about it though? |

There will almost certainly be a psytrance event in Toronto for NYE. I've heard some very good rumours about who might be flying in for that... |

Some people who are into psytrance are into psychedelics, some people who are into psychedelics are into "psychedelic culture". That culture has some people who tend to latch onto various philosophies of other religions, especially eastern religions. However, they are not all necessarily inclusive of eachother. As, you may simply like psytrance and no interest in psychedelics, or into psychedelics and have no interest in those other cultures, or, may be interested in those cultures, yet have no interest in psychedelics or psytrance. And, various other combination of being into one but not the other :P
But, to deny that there is a strong influence of psychedelics in the psytrance scene would be a bit silly, just look at how many producers / comps / song names / etc pull in references to mushrooms, LSD, DMT, etc. Hell, 1200 mics have an entire album with each song named after a different psychedelic... just sayin...
But, there can be quite a strong culture around psytrance, especially once you start looking at the festival circuit / doofs, which also gets quite a bit of a "hippie" vibe.
Toss in the roots of Goa/Psy going back to Goa India, hippies traveling on the road through India for 'spiritual/personal enlightenment' (or, just to get high and have a good time, to each their own).
I can sort of get how he followed the train of thought to ask the question even if he didn't articulate it very well. But, the question didn't seem that out of left field to me. |

| I guess Circa's not doing anything either and when it comes to Mark Oliver vs Doman and Pettigrew; I'd rather go with Mark Oliver |

Does anyone know anything about fw for NYE?
Last year I went and it was perfect, not over crowded, good tunes, low key, and didnt cost a fortune. |
