Coolestrl, I have been reading these forums for a while, but your post was really ridiculous enough to make me sound off. For the record, I had a great time, he ended a bit early but what can you do. His music is not my favorite, and the venue is not my favorite, but I still had a great time and feel it was a good show. Like DJ TRACE says, there were no problems so wtf are you complaining about? People were having fun, if you don't like that why don't you stay home?
It was definitely not a "guido-fest" as you call it. There will always be a few, but I am guessing you have not seen a real "guido-fest" if you think last night was one, it was nowhere close. Also, posting so openly about "everyone was ing high" is really pretty stupid of you. It sounds like you WANT extra police in the area to arrest people who are just having fun. It's like you didn't care to buy the tickets for $25 a day before, paid $40 and were pissed off the whole day because of it, and proceeded to get even more pissed when you saw that others were having fun? You see someone smoking and your first thought is that there should be more bouncers??? Why? Were they bothering you, or were they just having a good time?
I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I've never seen such an intolerant post. With this kind of attitude, you should probably just avoid parties in general altogether, regardless of venue or music-genre. |

So i went last night, 40 bucks on the Door?? WTF!! Anyways good part i got comped. This was the biggest crackfest, guido fest i have seen in a while.Loads of fist pumping. Everybody on the floor was ing high! and Half of the folks were smoking weed on the floor. No bouncers around whatsoever.
As for the music most of his stuff int the beginning sounded like noise. then he started playing some good stuff. But there was no consistency in his set. Like he starts bangin it slows it down, start bangin again slows down again, does that for a few more times and just slows down. I have a few vids will upload them when i get a chance. Some of his breakdowns were really awesome tho. Overall i'd say meh. Webster hall needs more bouncers and better checking tho. |
Sounds like someone wasn't f%#$ed up enough :stongue:
Sorry to hear you didn't have a great time. Deadmau5's strong points are his productions really...
As for the music scene there's certain things you should come to expect :nervous:
Maybe try catching him sometime next year at an outdoor event... |

Too much hate here.
I think he is a decent guy, who just spent a little too much time on 4chan. |

I def agree there should've been more bouncers.
I dont think that because of people smoking weed, because thats perfectly fine with me, but some people were tripping on and were very unpleasant to be around... throwing drinks at the crowd, dancing like retards swinging their fists and elbows, fighting right in the middle of the crowd, some dickface even put a cigarette out on my neck. I didnt give a at the time cuz I was wasted but now it hurts like a bitch and looks like its gonna leave a scar..
Either way, neither me nor my gf were able to really enjoy the music 100% becuase there was constantly at least one around us we had to keep an eye on. We were plannin to go to mike/martin tonight but im not goin to webster hall again without my boys =/ |

guys guys guys, first of all i said this was the biggest crackfest i have seen "in a while" by that i ment there was more crack/weed/drugs goin on openly here as compared to other partys.
And yeah they definitely needed more bouncers and better security check, think about that from a security point of view. a girl got almost raped at BLVD the same night, There were cops and stuff and the place got closed down early, my friends who went there had to end their night early. and by looking at how many ppl come to webster u definitely needed more bouncers.
and yeah i was never pissed off because i had to pay $40, as i said in my first post i got comped. i just ment i dont think deadmau5 is worth my 40 bucks.
as for fun i always have fun wherever i go, i just ment the party could be better. |

omg yeah in that case there should have DEFINITELY been more bouncers. im not against ppl having fun but i dont care HOW wasted someone gets, its never an excuse for assholic behavior. when ppl decide that includes their right to ruin the night of other ppl around them, hell id be retaliating too. i hate going to events where the dj is mainstream/popular because then more of these dicks will possibly show up. if someone shoves me im going to shove them back and curse in their face
MAN i hope thats not how its going to be tonight at WH. this is the ONE party we are hitting up during Drews bday wknd and i already have so many reservations about it. lets just hope its totally a different scene tonight -_-

this was easily the worst party i have ever been to. i didn't wanna go to this and i was suppose to go to philly to see sean and tom but my gf forced me to go cause she LIKED deadmau5 until the end of the show lol. we got there around 1:30 and i thought he would be banging out by then...noway...he was playing some slow and everybody on the floor was watching him. if i didn't know what he looked like, i would have thought i was at a wrong party or something. like i said, no1 on the floor was dancing or jumping, just standing and WATCHING until he did those crazy breakdowns once every 10 mins. like coolestrl said, there was no consistency in his set.
i don't really mind the crackheads or guidos as long as they don't bother me...... but they sure need a better coat check.....it took me 35 mins to get my .
the dj after deadmau5 was playing way better sonng than him. |

I completely agree with Leniu. There should be more bouncers at this venue. I normally go to Pacha (w46th and 11th) and although there are a lot of bouncers, there are still plenty of ways to get (and stay) ed up without having to deal with ing guidos, fights, etc.
I went to deadmau5 on wednesday and witnessed 5 fights, 3 vomiters, and like 2 moshpits. I came in a decent sized group, so I wasn't too concerned about the safety issue, but I can see how some people may be. Deadmau5's set was waayyy too short, but still pretty crazy. The deadmau5 dancers, giant discoball and giant bouncing balloons were an awesome addition.
Overall, pretty sick show. |
