Well I guess with psy theres certainly a lot more effort put into synth programming, hence why you see much more varied sounds... as well as sounds that actually change along with the melody/groove and change throughout the song. Again, this isn't true for all psy... some of its starting to become more similar, and less effort put into, but thats the stuff I want to get away from and don't like anyway. |
That's an aesthetic quality, has nothing to do with being well produced. |

What's well produced then? Mastering?
I'm saying if more effort is put into the sounds, then they are probably closer to the feeling of the song, which is the aim for each element imo. Bearing in mind, this used to happen quite a bit with classic trance too. |

Yeah, well, except it's not edm and it's not even necessarily electronic. |

Well its certainly strongly associated with edm... and while its not strictly dancey, neither is drum n bass. I haven't really heard that much of non sequenced ambient, I'm sure it exists, but its a vast minority. |

Does the word "ignorance" mean anything to you? |

You're the one who brought it up. How about keeping your mouth shut when you don't know what you're talking about. |

Oh and you know so much more mr ambient is not electronica. As well as using the word aesthetic to describe anything at all in an art form. |

So it seems, yes. And i didn't say ambient is not electronica. I said it is not edm and not necessarily electronic. |

Well I don't think the term electronic dance music is entirely literal in its meaning of music that is made electornically/has heavy use of synthesizers and is made for dancing. May as well include hip hop in there as well if thats the case, which I don't think is true at all.
Anyway, care to answer my other questions? Like for instance, what the hell "well produced" is meant to mean if it doesn't mean the sounds are well made and exact. |
