I go to Goodlife at Eaton Centre (South co-ed, but there is also another one on the North side), and I pay 29.50 plus tax bi-weekly...I really like the gym, and the staff is amazing...The crowd is really nice, it's mostly young professionals, but I also see an older crowd there once in a while...It's 3 floors, 1 for women only, 2nd one is with machines and cardio equipment, and the 3rd floor has a huge weight room with spinning bikes and an aerobics classroom. Classes are included with the memebership! Also, they have small saunas and tanning beds in change rooms.
Overall, I would say that it's my favourite gym downtown, I did a very good research before switching from my old one, which was women's only.
Oh, and I love raping those eliptical machines to some Armin and Jelo!!! I would say running is best to trance, and using eliptical to tribal, techno, and electro. |
oh nice :) I went there a few times when I was in Eaton's so I got my shopping done and the workout too.. I find the changing room a bit gross though - at my location here at Bay & Bloor, the changing rooms are def maintained at a better level
running = trance
eliptical = hooooouse :) |

| the brand new extreme and dundas square seems nice I went to the opening partay haha, a couple of my buddies go their too. I go to the one in thornhill (I hate it but it's the oldest one, infact its the head office), I don't really listen to music when I workout though, too distracting I gotta get in and get out. |

I absolutely love the athletic club in the TD waterhouse tower. It's an older crowd, but its got absolutely everything, including a pool. A young exec membership (under 30 yrs of age) runs about $100/mth.
I don't go to my gym to socialize, but if that were important to you, I'd suggest going somewhere else as most people keep to themselves. |
+1
I just found out i'm entitled to a free membership there, woohoo! I love that place |

Thanks everyone for the tips. I'm going to check out a few places, see what suits me. Looking at the Goodlife on Yonge, The Adelaide Club, or the Extreme fitness at TD.
I'm betting that in these troubled economic times, gym memberships in downtown clubs are way down and I can probably strike a good deal. |

I work out at home: bench press, pushups, crunches, and chinups.
Same set every time I work out: Marlboro64's 'Spunned Out' mix. |
hahaha!

Are there any other gyms downtown that have a pool? (besides the athetic club in the TD waterhouse tower and Ryerson's gym)
Also does anyone know any gyms that offer decent kick boxing classes? |
