A couple of months behind we may be but I intend to catch up quick, here is the second installment of the Windmill Sessions for the month. A slightly more uptempo and trancier feel to this. But as ever its full of deep goodness!

Escadia-Early In The Morning (beach mix)
Smooth prog trance perfect for introducing a set. Love how the bass announces its arrival and the softly spoken vocals during the dreamy break.
Kamakura ENV-Daydream (human8 remix)
A simple, neat transition and we are in to the stacatto rhythm of "Daydream". Fans of "Critical 7-Lost" will lap this building number up.
Chance Jumpers-Korona (ilya malyuev's softech mix)
Initially its techy and squelchy and not all together inkeeping with the Windmill philosophy, but bear with it as it delivers a brain-melting breakdown!
Arthur Deep-Inside Of Me
A drone-like bell characterises this deep workout. Atmosphere is key here as I wanted to bring down the pace just a notch.
Arthur Deep-Who We Are
This track goes very well with the previous offering surprisingly enough! Its a bit trancier in a subtle way and perhaps a bit pacier too, albeit it marginally.
Alex Rize+Elfsong-Minutiae (cassino+laben remix)
We don't leave the darkness just yet...! Great to see Cassino and Laben back doing the kind of music that made their name, truly one of the most talented progressive producers around, no one shapes an atmosphere quite like they do.
Mango-Nacreous Cabrio
Its taken a while to get a release but Nacreous Cabrio has that deep melodic goodness of Mango's early work seeping through it. Love introducing something as heart-warming as this after a gloomy atmospheric section, just wakes everything up!
Tim Davison-Sticks and Stones
Another top track from Tim Davison's album. I had to include this because it melded effortlessly with Nacreous Cabrio, before it takes on a life of its own and pumps up the tempo a notch
The Unique Matter-Deep Progress (human 8 remix)
Just to keep the listener on their toes I whacked in a darker track like this. Love the Vangelis-esque synth work, really does evoke visions of a neon-lit dystopia like Bladerunner. Awesome stuff!
Soda Inc-Moonlight
Tidy lo-fi workout from Soda Inc with a rare foray into prog-trance territory.
Osictone-Seasight (noton remix)
Blink and you'll miss this! Well not really, but I used this mainly as a transition track for a minute or two just to keep the pace ongoing for the final sprint.
Sublunar ft. Aya-Kojo No Tsuki
Banging dark-room trance, complete with old-skool sensibilities! Including spoken eastern vocals, ominous string backdrop and huge psy-tinged lead. Bangin'.
Tomumi Ukumori-Don't Say A Word
A lighter but suitably energetic track to cap things off. Featuring some very unique vocals, it really shows off how the words in a track can leave a lasting impression. |
