| btw I currently am using PMX 60's which are fine for what they are. Probably the best in this category. The thing is that I just can't go back to wearing traditional headphones (especially not with hair that's sticking up and full of gel). And I refuse to walk around with monitoring headphones. I think people who do that look ridiculous. |

Sennheiser HD25, Sony 7605, and Ultrasones are the only phones I would buy in that price range. Unless you live Europe the HD25s are probably a little too pricey. So I'd look at the Sony 7506s or Ultrasones.
I own Sennheiser HD280s and the Ultrasone DJ1 models. I have used the 7506s, but never the HD25s however everyone raves about them, so they will be my next pair. |

HD 280s for gaming? Lol...
If you want gaming headphones, I'd say either get Razer or Steelseries. Those are the main brands I can think of that are mainly gaming oriented.
The Razer Barracuda:

Steelseries 5H:

If it was headphones for DJing you're looking for, then I would recommend the Sennheiser HD 25 (mk2), A&H Xone XD 53 or the Sony MDR 7506. I own a hd 25 myself and it is awesome. |

| LOL I only read through half the original post where the guy was talking about music. I didn't realize he wanted a headset instead of headphones. |

they put more money into r&d than any other speaker/headphone company out there
that being said, they may not be for everyone ;)
(my quiet comfort 2, over ear bose headphones are my fave set for listening to music for long periods of time, very comfortable and not fatiguing. great for planes and traveling too!!) |
