i just wanted to poke fun at how these threads always end up turning into a penis size contest with everyone naming increasingly more obscure artists, nothing personal.

Blake wins that one and not because he is not obscure hahahaha.

i think we went off course when we started arguing the market strength of obscure minimal techno in chicago on a forum called TRANCEaddict.

either that or when we started talking about the drug supply in said regions, and its effect on music taste and demand for said artists. yeah got me.

That stuff isn't "obscure minimal techno". In fact, I don't see anybody on that list who is even a minimal artist.

Semantics though, I guess.

Agnes would be awesome. Jake Fairley (Fairmont) and Efdemin would be great to see as well. Move D and Dixon from Myra's list would definitely be two of my choices. Also add Sebo K and Anja Schneider.

I guess so ...

Conversely, though, can I say that this list:

quote:

Sied Van Riel
Leon Bolier
Re-Ward
DJ Eco
ARNEJ
Mark Sherry
Marco V
Boys Noize

translates to some sort of penis size contest because I don't know who over half of the people on there are?

Not that Chicago has bad taste, but Chicago venues don't like to lose money. These artists charge prices that come off as inflated for people who aren't established on the American market relative to their standing on the European. Some aren't willing to take a price cut for the sake of establishing themselves here, and rightfully so. They get paid double the American offer at home with a much bigger crowd.

I do think that talent such as Sebo and Anja are do-able.

omg. here we go. thread is on the road to epic fail. don't hit the red button!

sure, why not. that idea was what i was poking fun at originally, i just chose to pick on matthias's minimal techno list because it was an easier target and you guys put up more of a fight and make my day at home more entertaining.
