My top pick for the year is:
JDSY - Smoke and Mirrors [Ghostly International/adult swim] {electronica}

It's one of the most unique/creative tracks I've heard all year and a testament to that is the fact that it doesn't quite fit into any music genre. Its short, melodic, great vocals and effects. It's made available for free download on Ghostly's Adult Swim site so I figure it won't be a problem putting the track up for download here. Download and listen for yourself.
An additional 4 great tracks I've come across this year:

- anyone who's heard this track knows its an absolute bomb! doesn't matter what you're into.
[a]pendics.shuffle feat. Lisa Fabian - Mas Lines (Adultnapper Remix) [Ransom Note Footnotes] {techno}
- very smooth, sexy tech
Ferry Corsten - Into The Dark (Breakfast Remix) [Flashover Recordings] {trance}
- its a shame i didn't get a chance to hear more TA produced/remixed tracks this year. really liked this one though. new release, yet somehow nostalgic at the same time :)
The Horrorist & Miro Pajic - Gigabytes Numbers (Tony Rohr Remix) [Lazerslut Recordings] {techno}
- really dark, bouncy techy beats. this track is another win for creativity. its got the most profound lyrical statements i've heard in any track this year :nervous:
... soooo, by this time next year will we have a 'top tracks of the decade' thread or will that wait 'till the end of 2010? Time sure does fly :happy2: |
