quite often the past is important though as it contains nuggets about someone's present (and sometimes future) behaviour, state of mind, relationship 'health', etc. You don't necessarily need to know numbers, but moreso why he/she did it, how he/she felt about it and how he/she feel about him/herself now. We're not even getting into the STD aspect...

The word "slut" has a negative connotation. I don't believe a girl who has sex just to have fun deserves to be called such a word. Everyone, male or female has sex every once in a while just for kicks.
I would call a girl a slut based on her morals, standards and reasons for having sex.

I don't believe this at all. If you don't look at and/or disregard the persons past completely, you are setting yourself up for a lot of hurt. It's pretty much assuming that the person is going to change just because they are with you. |
