in all seriousness, it's a rather new Grammy category (I think only a few years old) - I haven't kept up with it. So, that's why I missed the two you mentioned before. Only reason I saw this one was because of facebook.

what the hell does winner some award anything to do with haters. most of the people that hate, don't do so because of his music, its because of the stupid he says and his attitude. did you honestly thing something like this is going to make people that don't care for him feel any different about their beliefs, lol.

also, thats a hell of a lineup for the award. surprised they don't have a madonna remix in there or kylie minogue.

for the record, i could take him or leave him, he just needs to watch what he says is all .. and make some tracks that sound different from one another .. and don't talk about dj's when he just uses ableton to dj his own tracks.

Can I ask if there is something wrong with DJ'ing in Ableton? Whats the difference between Ableton and what PVD does?

Also, don't DJM800's and CDJ1000's allow you to electronically beatmatch.

I mean I've been DJ'ing for like 18 hours now....

What advantage does ableton give you over the others?

:nervous:

EDIT: The 1st time I saw PVD using ableton...I was angry. Simply because I lost a little respect for him and people "not really dj-ing"

Hell I remember 6-Years ago when I saw him in Ohio using VINYL!!! was dope! I think even at the Riv and HOB he used vinyl....

Anyways, as time passed I didn't care as much...my philosophy is quite simple, use w/e FITS YOUR NEEDS. Now I embrace w/e is new and coming from someone who is in I.T. the technology that is to come in next 5-10 years *For Dj's* excites me a-lot.

I still have crates of records laying around...and old Dj gear not being used. For now I am happy with my setup it's simple and does what I need it to do.

For Ableton I know if you get 1-2 MIDI controllers you can do some wicked sh1t with it.

AS far as the CD-DECKS you can use stuff to "beatmatch" only to a certain extent....Still a-lot more than beatmatching comes into it. Like tracks, how you want "your sound" to come across, enviroments etc/etc/etc

my 2 cents
