Hey guys. I'm in the market for a pair of PA speakers. I was browsing my local Guitar Center today and they had these on sale with a special holiday tag for around 250 bucks each! Retail was around 650, from what I remember. I know these are the predecessors to the G2s and are powered, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this particular model. For 500+tax, it seems like a steal.

i had a pair of them for years, they sounded good and never let me down, they only lack a little bit of punch that you get with the g2, still a steal of a deal though

those speakers were meant to compete with the srm-450's and while they don't sound as great, they are for sure worth 250 each. They are also really reliable (one club i dj at has been using it as a monitor for several years now). They also don't overheat as much as the mackies.

Finally bought 1 for $273 shipped from GC. They applied a 15% Sam Ash coupon I had. I was so tempted to buy another but 1 is really all I need at the moment.
