Markus Schulz on Radio 1's Essential Mix (06-12-2008) (pg. 7)

To be honest, this set hasn't really impressed me much so far...
Markus has really stood out to me in the past year, but this episode sounds like a fairly generic GDJB episode, I know he can put on an excellent show live, and I really think hes capable of putting forth something a bit more special for an essential mix.
Alot of the songs had filler feelings to them, and even the Big Room Reconstructions (i.e. Cygnus) felt like they were lacking a bit.
Just my 2 cents, and of course he deserves a big nod for making it to EM :P |

| having come in late can't comment on the entirety of the set but shouldn't it sound similar to gdjb? i mean he shouldn't change what's working although i do agree with an essential mix you have to bring your A game because it is a honor to be asked to play one. |

I completely disagree, especially considering the last two or three GDJB's lacked those he made before he started concentrating on the EM. Nearly everything in this mix was flawless, from intro, to the new Dakota Track, to Bittersweet Nightshade's massive remix, on to the world premiere of the Gleave Remix for Vegas ...Markus gave this mix his all, a huge showcase of his talent. I'm not sure if the likes of Cygnes belonged in there with the rest of the awesome tunes, but overall it's a great EM! |

If you listen and analyse the set, it will be very easy to tell how much effort he has put in to making this. :)
Sad it's over, could have done with another 2 hours!

i only got the last 15min or so, i'm not hating i said i can't comment because i literally didn't listen to it. i just said when you get to do an em you bring your A game. i'm a markus schulz junkie so i'm sure i'll enjoy it and believe me i'll notice how much he put into it. i'm pretty excited to listen to it in its entirety |

I know that you are one of the last people that would hate. ;) But yeah, when you get the chance to listen, you'll know yourself there and then all the little bits and pieces that helped make it EM worthy.
In my opinion, he waited a very long time for this opportunity, and he took it very, very well. :)
