Can you automate with a Nord Lead 3?

I got a NL3 a few days ago but i cant seem to automate the parameters in Logic studio real time. I think its a logic/software problem, something very simple. I have looked in the logic manual but no success.
Any ideas? |

| Is there a button on the nord that says local? If so press hold shift>local>off, then press shift again |

I cant see it. There is a shift button but no local |

Oh i found the local menu. Its a selection inside the MIDI button. Unfortunately still no help. I think its a problem with logic.
Any other ideas |

| what midichannels are u sending on? and on NL3 u have 4 parts, what midichannel are they? or are u on preformance mode? |

I dont think that this is the problem. When i press record and hit the keys, midi information gets recorded into logic, so all midi data is going through just fine. It just when i put a track in logic to latch it wont record anything when i adjust a knob. |

I dont understand.
This is my first hardware synth. I can automate the mod wheel but that gets recorded into the midi file. |
