im not that taken by it i dont know it doesnt really move me
cant put my finger on it.
there's something weird about lawrence's sound which is too canned or precious the same way that trance music is.
i bet he started off making trance music |

| It's really simple and constant, but I think it sounds good. |

Loving the original mix of Miles. That one is definitely going in the crate. Thanks for sharing this Clovis |

actually i don't think this is very simple. but i generally like simple and constant. (eg maurizio - domina)
but this is like a boring version of radio slave - k maze
this sounds like video game outro music. those tones are all fluff. i would have to pretend to be into these tracks in a club setting. they don't grab me by the balls and take me in. i feel like these are more like elevator music or a hotel painting - very unassuming, hard to get into.
icicled dance is the same old lawrence
i much prefer his sten album |

This is very unassuming, it's stuff I would play very early on, pretty much as background music, so I guess you hit the nail on the head there Adam. :stongue:
But it's really nice background music... |

yeah
i guess i make a distinction between 'atmospheric' music and 'background' music.
atmospheric music pervades an entire space and seeps into the cracks of our hearts and minds and can eventually brings us to an emotional frenzy
background music just sits there, in the background, and it itself is not the focus, but simply a tool to make people less self conscious about themselves and to promote the sale of alcohol. you may as well hold up a sign that say 'this music is supposed to be emotional'
i tend to prefer the pervasive atmosphere
anyways thats my take. don't get me wrong, i love peter k and most of the dial catalog but this just doesnt do it for me
something about opinions and s |
