Blk|market Membership is proud to welcome Robert Hood for his first time ever performance at LOVE NYC. This event marks a 3 hour special Decks n' Efx set which Robert will be performing for us New Yorkers. Mark December 20th down on your calendars as we bring you his Fabric 39 release party. He takes his stripped-back minimalism, pours emotions through hi-hats, sings with the rhythms and gives this mix a feeling of humanity. Its like a story that describes a journey from start to finish. Hood is regarded by many as one of the founding fathers of techno's development. We are very pleased to finally have him join us.

FLAVORPILL SAYS:
The guy who basically wrote the minimal playbook way back in '94 with his seminal record Minimal Nation returns to NYC for a three-hour set of decks 'n effects on Love's monstrous sound system. Alongside Jeff Mills and Mike Banks, Robert Hood founded Detroit's Underground Resistance and has remained vital within the techno scene since, as his mix for the Fabric's excellent series showcased earlier this year. Working with a limited palette of tight kicks, crisp hi-hats, and throttling bass lines, Hood weaves repeating synth lines and metallic chords together, yet somehow manages to coax a human element out of his Motor City machine music.

TIMEOUT NY SAYS:
Blkmarket Membership takes control of Love and its super sound system, and the gang is again making the most of it: Tonight’s headliner is Robert Hood, a producer who was among the first wave of minimalists in the techno world (his Minimal Nation LP came out 15 years ago). He'll be doling out his steely sounds in a decks ’n' effects set, with Toast's Pjay and residents Taimur and Fahad opening up.
