so creating a facebook event makes you an official promoter in your books? i would tone down the insult a bit + whats wrong with a new generation getting interested in EDM? you snob them just because they're trying to trow partys at some brasserie at least they're doing something not ony complaining like you techinvasion my music is better then yours. my point of you. and like freak said twice not a promoter so you can relax and go back being happy with yourself

the main problem is the age and maturity factor: i'd like to think 21 year olds and beyond represent a "mature and responsible" crowd, whether they like crap music or not, there wont be any pushing, shovelling, countless od's all over the place - lets put the bar at 23 and older, put 18 year olds in there, just a few hundreds of them you got problems, you got little girl passing out in the bathroom or Timmy with the exploded bladder (yeah it wont happen, but still.) Why is it a problem? Because people expect things to go wrong at a rave and those kids are exactly what will go wrong in a rave, so it pops up on the news, edm gets a bad rep, police gets on that case, and you got problems for future events (depends on a few other things, but you get the point)
The music's never been the real main issue really, even if they invite Rick Astley and people go in numbers bringing the sweet dough, next year, you'll have Rick with Fernand Gignac on the piano. Till they keep getting 10 000 people attending, i dont see why they'll turn beatnik, pull out the cigar and look for unknown talents in the depths of Europe.
So indirectly, it is related to the music: you invite Guetta, you get the 18-21 crowd/club crowd, the crowd comes along with its attitude and energy, thats it, but if you have at worst 80-85% of happy customers, you wont change a thing. To attract 10 000+, you cant bring obscure names. Most of the discovering has to be done on their own - in small clubs - cd's - friends, etc. |

I am not going to lie, but that has gotta be one of the most retarded things I have heard in a while...
"Some little girl OD'ing?"
Pretty sure there are more people OVER 21 ODing and having drug problems....
I guess you learn new things every day.
1. If you are under 21, you are a pushy mother******.....
2. After you turn 21, you become MATURE.
Not even gonna go into the other that you brought up... |
