You might also like this older track of mine:
http://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/...0120%20Grit.mp3
which, I must confess, is a little weird but somewhat similar in style. Those who can't fathom a 4-on-3 polyrhythm are warned... :P

It could use a bit of improvement here and there, but unfortunately I threw away most of the intermediate work because I needed disk space, so I'd have to mix everything down all over again. I might do this some day, though.

I really really like this. It is so different to most of the other stuff posted here and your production is flawless and your sounds are made really well.

Only thing I am not sure about is the new instrument/noise that comes in at about 3.25...that might push the track over the edge in terms of credibility as its very overpowering. and then the new bit that comes in around at 4.26 doesn't harmonise that great with it. I think if you rejigged the track so those elements were removed and put in some more quirky stuff or a a more subtle melody you would have a real winner of a track.

The clarity of your production is what makes this stand out.

Many thanks for posting it

Thanks for your comments. The track rips the castle music from Super Mario World for the SNES.

Yes, I LOVE those arpeggios; I think they make use of dissonance in a very satisfying way. That component of the melody was more-or-less the driving force behind my creation of this track, which is why I will never listen to those who tell me that I should make it darker and more subdued, or turn it into a dirty house track.

There are some other tracks of mine on www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~egrant and some old on www.mp3unsigned.com/showband.asp?id=1315 but I don't think any of it is quite like this. I am working on a new track which you might like; I'll put it on here when it's done.

Nice, I might go back and play Mario for a while =)
I don't find the Arpeggios dissonant, probably because they are dissonant in a consonant way :tongue2

is the piano that fast on the originsal game or you made it like that?

I'll check for your other tracks and p`leae let me know whenever you make new tracks =)

Thank You again =)

Hahah, the arpeggios are actually full of tritones and the main chord progression is 1, a4/d5, 4, 5. So yeah, it's dissonant as hell, but it resolves.

The original is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVKW94mg2CE

Yes, they are that fast. In fact, I probably DECREASED the tempo in my version. They are TRIPLETS, six notes per beat.
