Good local travel agencies - recommendations anyone?

Me and my colleague from work are thinking of going on a short trip during or after the Christmas holidays. Since our funds and time are limited, we were thinking of just going somewhere locally, i.e. Ottawa and/or Montreal. Neither of us have a car and we'd prefer to go trough a travel agency. Do you guys have any recommendations/tips for a good agency, and any specials or vacation tips for these two cities (or any near surrounding area worth visiting) either for time after the holidays or sometime in mid-January?

Thanks a lot in advance,

-K.

I've always been reluctant to go through travel agencies b/c I didn't want to pay someone to book a vacation that I could just do myself, as I find it to be more expensive.

The only experience I've had with pre-booked vacation stuff though is through Expedia (Canada). I've booked hotels and tickets for stuff through there, and I find their rates to be pretty decent and you can make your own packages. It's a pretty trustworthy site too, so it gives you a little reassurance.

I know you can book car rentals, flights, tickets, hotels etc. all through them together and you get discounts for doing packages too I believe.

agreed though in such a case its good to have everyone online together or in communication as the deals can disappear in a second and you may not have much time to pull the trigger when you have the right one.

In my experience I just put it on one credit card so it was secured all together and then just had everyone pay me right away.

i totally scanned the post, i thought it was about a sunny all inclusive type deal so the comments aren't really relevant.

expedia is def your best bet for a city vacation package (flight and hotel) but also can look separately on hotels.ca and the airline websites directly (aircanada.com, westjet.com, flyporter.com) if you don't find the combo to your liking, sometimes flights can be restrictive in the package deals at short notice cos they want to get rid of the less popular 6am flights.
