Hello TAs,
Just to clear myself, i looked around on some threads and i could not find my answer. Sorry if it was posted elsewhere.

I have worked for some companies where we had suppliers and i played mainstream pop urban etc... *puke* I did it to get experience and stuff and it worked out. Anyways, now i want to fly solo gigs such as clubs bars and small concerts. I do live in Canada and i studied the AVLA a bit. i couldn't really find any licensed suppliers of good club/trance music.

Basically what my question is, what is a legal, most cheapest and easiest way to get the latest and previous trance and club tracks for my location? I use Torq and other software programs to do my mixes.

If there is anything that i didn't cover or didn't explain clearly enough don't hesitate to ask me for clarification. I would really like to figure something out. Thanks in advance.

"If I'm AVLA licensed, can I download songs from the Internet?

No. All AVLA licenses (including the CDJA and CRDMO) strictly prohibit downloading music from the Internet. Songs copied under an AVLA license must be taken from a physical source made by a record company – like a store-bought CD. "

wouldn't this exclude beatport?

Its grey.

If you read carefully the terms of service on BP its all for personal use only.

As long as you download from a legit source such as beatport, juno ect (the reputable digital download sites) and keep records for the songs you'll be fine. Most people don't but if you do in the very very rare chance someone giving you trouble a beatport email will promptly tell them to STFU.

But yes, you are correct, it has to be an authorized source. Beatport and ect are not considered as such.

if you want to get completely legit tunes for use in clubs and public performance, you may want to look into music services such as promo only

Anyone else read AVLA as AYLA?

I definitely looked into promo only. i used it with one of my companies. I just feel that there is not much underground or even many trance tracks offered here... maybe i am not looking in the right place.
