from montreal, there was "the sunny boyz", stephan grondin, who produced a track named "Enjoy"... it use to play at club LeBeat on corner on st-hubert and ste-catherine. About at the same time as Witch Doctor. People use to go crazy in that club when it played.

this is a great thread. im really having a blast listening to old songs. some of which i was gonna mention myself. i started listening to EDM mostly in 1999-2000 (i dont count depeche mode in the early 90s but i thinking back i guess they were the ones that got me into EDM)... i would go to HMV buy CDs burn them and bring them back - there was just too much to discover and not enough money ;)

i started off a little different, was VERY into underground hip hip between the ages of 8 and say 14-15...I started off liking EDM with pretty dark techno.
used to always make fun of my cousin for listening to "dance music"...i thought everything sounded MC Mario ish lol...was very closed minded...
Then smoked a fat one by the mont-royal and he busted in a live set by Mauro Picotto - live @ Rosenmontags Rave...
Never looked back.
