Is it worth it to buy the WMC Badge??

Hey guys, this will be my first WMC so I'm hoping some of the veterans can give me a bit of insight. I saw that someone asked this question in one of the forums but I want to hear some more opinions. I just don't want to spend the money and then find out that it really wasn't worth it. I'm planning on Ultra and some of the bigger parties... Pvd, S&D, Above & Beyond.... etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

if you have no interest in going to the official WMC seminars and workshops than the general consensus is to not buy the pass. usually you do get a free Ultra ticket but it typically does not help for the big parties at Space, Mansion, Cameo, etc.

Do you think it would save more money then just buying presale tix?

If one of your hobbies includes wasting money, buy the badge.

Each year, the WMC has grown larger. And each year, the price of seeing your favorite acts has become exorbitant. My suggestion is that you stick to the artists that don’t normally tour and leave the big acts such as PvD, etc. for other times of the year because they’re always touring.

On the other hand, I would recommend you check out the little parties going on around the beach and downtown because I know you'll find something you would not have seen otherwise.

So many parties, so little time.

I been buying the badge for the past 4 years... 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and will stop...

2005 and 2006 was the best years, well at least for buying the badge for my lady and I, who attended most of the seminars, panels, and events, but last 2008 was complete ...

WMC was hosting the bad ass DJ Spin-Off, it has completely changed. I was just looking at the website now, and they even posted an old image from 2005

funny, that is actually me on the bottom left corner with the sunglasses... they gave out a good 30+ cds, hats, tee shirts, dvds, needles, turntable covers, etc... in 2005, I left with well over $1,500 worth of gear...

Keep your $325 and just pay for the events you wish to attend. They removed the bad ass nikki beach event, that they had for the past years... they had the best damn dj's... that event was like $75 to get into, and with the badge it was free... and many of the other events were canceled as well... so it is hard to get your moneys worth out of the badge... and of course...

The IMDA "International Dance Music Awards" has gone to ... in 2005 and 2006 they always had free drinks, a big party at the penthouse, and the winning dj's would be at the party... 2007/2008 they stopped the free drinks, the dj's just go back to their hotel room... 2008 dance awards party was the worst... we had to wait forever to get into because security said we weren't allowed in the penthouse... then after all the crowd screamed and said after the past years we were..... finally security realized we were all suppose to be in there... and after 1 hour... everyone left... it was total ...

It's only worth buying the badge, if you get the badge before Nov 12, 2008... and for $225 and attend every party you can... many parties are $25-$75 to get into... but honestly... going to Ultra alone... you can see every DJ you want... so why bother...

WMC prices keep rising, but they give us their guests... nothing in return...

I will only be attending ULTRA and a select few events.
