Oh, try not to assume what I like or dont like. I've been listening to trance since 2001-2002 and still listen to it today.

U2 - Beautiful Day (Mat Zo remix) one of your fav tracks

and who is into pop? you have to be kidding me... U2 is the king of pop. btw i like this song as well

What is the matter with having some pop? I have been listening to edm since 1991 so dont try and assume what i like and dont like. I happen to like every genre of music. rock/clasic/pop/trance/house/.... just i like edm the most.

I didnt say that. I said im not the only one. I play guitar and have had music all through my life and i love it. My brother plays the drums and piano and loves it, my girlfriend is a singer and she loves that girls voice. Do you have any musical background or are u just saying you dont like it because you dont like it? I am really interested in what you dont like about it.
And dont say its the pop lyrics because beautiful day is one of your fav songs, remember.

Cass & Slide - Perception (vocal mix)
Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 returning mix)
Just a sample

Vocal trance that actually sounds like it's incorporated into the track, not like it sounds like someone slapped it on top just to make it more appealing. Oh, and the singer's voice doesnt grate on my nerves.

I rather like Ronski Speed - All the Way but the original dub mix, because what little vocal sample was used, fits the track well and enhances it.

Thank you. i agree 100% I want to know as well because if this song sucks then the "good vocal trance tracks" will be amazing.

still haven't answered this. The fact is one of your fav songs is U2 - Beautiful Day (Mat Zo remix). U2 is pop. so do like top 40 stations and z103 or dont you? And then does that make you one of the people that makes armin make those so called " crap trance lyric songs."

Many pop/rock/mainstream stuff have been remixed. So what?

I happen to think it's a good remix. What does that prove?

edit: ah. stealth edit.

i've posted my criteria for what consists of a good vocal trance. i've said all i want on this topic.

having a musical background and having an appreciation for music (be it in general or specific genres) have nothing to do with each other. just because someone can play an instrument does not give them a greater right to decide for others what kind of music is better, it's personal choice. some musicians may have bias towards a type of music that involves significant use of their instrument even though (for example) classically trained performers may also enjoy hip-hop or glitch. similarly those who don't play an instrument may only enjoy pop/r&b or commercial sounds while others who don't play an instrument may have the most unique tastes of all. any genre is comprised of both good and bad music whether you are a fan of the style or not. it's fair enough if you're a fan of vocal trance and want to enquire to and even debate yohan's reasoning for not enjoying the majority of those tracks. but a musical background shouldn't factor in.

I agree with you on this all though theres a lot of tunes i like that you call cheesey, but i think everybody likes cheese at some point... in someone elses opinion. No?

I actually like Big Sky its geneic yes and her voice does reach a timbre that hurts me in my chest when she goes Releeaassse youuur SEEEELLLfF!! and the big sky part.... but it gets me a little uppidy!

That Vandit track Shine On is a good example of a slapped on vocal imo. What do you guys think?
