I'd say not all music, but cheesy pop music should be exactly that. Unfortunately, it has gone horribly wrong in the last 10 years or so. The best illustration of "They don't make 'em like that anymore" is when you compare updates 2008 versions to the original.
What a disgusting piece of ! First, where are the rap parts? Who was the idiot that postulated that dance music can't contain rap? And what is that retarded beat all about? It's just annoying and I can't imagine anyone wanting to dance to that. They also managed to destroy the female vocals and insert some stupid MC- at 2:00.
I think this track nicely shows what has gone wrong with dance music today. The original is so awesome, it s all over those pathetic remix attemps:
