I've recently become obsessed with doing the perfect vinyl rips but this 1 record seems to keep picking up bits of microdust even after I've cleaned it 4 times with my trusty stanton vc-1 cleaning solution + brush. any pro tips? cheers

Analog>Digital is always going to have a couple pops and clicks. No way around it really. If you've cleaned and dusted the record + the needles their isn't much else you can do... Sorry...

yeah I hear ya its just that my place is really dusty and I swear sometimes its just impossible to get these darn things clean. the weird thing is I've made it through about 10 rips without having visible dust under the needle, but this 1 record just seems to keep trapping dust. oh well, I guess it adds character

edit: also editing out little pops and clicks is really easy in any waveform editor program.

Try using windex. First spray your vinyl with windex. Next clean off with something soft. Finally, put vinyl on turntable and play all the way through the song. From beginning to end with no stops. You might find that this helps.
