So we all know how Mark Tabberner is when he plays... {sigh}. No bother repeating it here.
So at Heat two nights before, Ryan lowers the beats so Hernan can mix right into it. On Saturday, night, Hernan comes on and lets Mark's last song just fade out. I think I even saw Hernan smirk a little.
So, alas, for Chris and Michelle, Hernan's Saturday set was off the hook... I wish you both could have been there!
Some overlap between the two nights (expected), but they were such bangers. (I wonder how his set at Spin was on Friday night)
I can't trainspot mixes at all: he ended with:
Bedrock - Heaven Scent (remix must be off the Bedrock 10th Anniversary?)
Radiohead - Reckoner (? remix)
Sasha - Xpander (? remix)
A fantastic night, and Hernan is just wonderful. |

| anyone whose heard him knows how godawful he is as a dj, but what continues to fascinate me to no end is how a huge promoter such as giant keeps using him on their marquee nights with their marquee headliners. is the booking manager there just music illiterate? if so, how ironic that that's his job! does giant value whatever personal favors mr. tabberner gives them in exchange for his job over the public humiliation and brand corrosion they endure as a result? there's just so many unanswered questions to this relationship. on new years he mixed a madonna track into marcel woods, then got on the mic and said something like 'happy new years motherf*ckers, this only happens once in a lifetime!!!' :wtf: :haha: |

| that Xpander remix was not too good IMO. he should have just played the original...no one's been able to improve on it. but otherwise a great set. |

That must have been the M.O.D.E. remix on that disc..

Nothing will ever top the original, IMHO.
It was still nice to hear it two nights in a row (I can't remember the last time I heard Xpander in a club...maybe 8 years ago?) |

I listened to a sample of that remix: you're right; it matched what he played on Saturday.

You're right; I'm listening to it again, and it just brings back good memories of the night!
(Even though Ladytron - Destroy Everything you Touch) is played all over the place, Invol2ver is still a fantastic album; It's growing on me more and more just like Involver did) |
