Wow...look at mr. wiki-scientist...that's alot of helium! But I wasn't speaking about the sun though...this was more like a very bright thing appearing hours before the rest of the stars became visible...it stayed on the same spot, just growing in brightness, then after some hours it just disappeared...sounds like the sun, but it was not the sun!

Venus is visable in the winter, in early morning and when its just got dark at night :conf:
Not sure about where you are but in Ireland she sits in the East sky around 4 - 6pm
