Teh friggin "muddyness"

hi guys, well ive been making some sounds especially with z3ta+, and no matter where i started, i cant seem to create "not muddy" sounds. I cant get it to sound some how "clear" ,do i have to work with the EQ to get more "present" sounds, or is there something else one does to not modify the sound like cutting atack or sthin, but just "change" the sound. Should i be using different filters??(i normally only use LOWPASS and HIGHPASS since teh others i havnt figured them really out yet)
well i know its not a really precise cuestion, but if anybody knows what im talking about,help is greatly apreciated since ive been having this problem like forever.

No because then you risk losing thickness in a lot of sounds. It is more about knowing which sounds to eq and how much. |

i tried equing but , although its sounding better i am still not getting there where i want to be,but maybe thats because of lack knowing how to eq "right".

i am not the best at mixing but if you want to save the stems in audio, i maybe some people myself included will try to help you sort it out. A spectroscope may also help you as well as monitors. |

I think its most likely the sounds your using. Try dropping the sustain on the ADSR, generally using different oscillators and filters etc. Probably your using to many different pads, most of which aren't actually carrying any real melody, thats often the reason for muddiness. You should be able to build a track with <10 main tracks.
And post a sample if you want a proper response. |

He's right. Not that I'd be much help myself, but if you give others a clear idea of what your trying to achieve then you should hopefully get more informative replies. |

I think most DAWs will export as mp3. I know Logic does, and I'm pretty sure Live does, but I haven't used it in awhile. |
