Watching the video of his Exhibitionist mix made me think why exactly is he touching the knobs so obsessively?

there are other ways to mix then drop track, wait 6 minutes and drop another one.

stop liking djs that do this.

Well when you mix trance for example, you have no other choice. You need the breakdown to end first :p

Someone should just mix a commercial fluff trance set composed entirely of breakdowns, don't even mix in the pre / post-breakdown nonsense. Seeing as each breakdown stretches from 2-6 minutes it probably wouldn't be tough.

Jeff Mills is always mixing thats why he's always playing with the EQ's.

I tend to play with the eq quite a bit to keep the levels even, and I have a habit of playing with filters/effects a lot because my mixer doesn't have them lol. Trying to quit that :p

Maybe some DJs are nervous and that's just what they end up doing? Knowing myself, I'd probably do the same thing, whenever I get nervous I tend to just fiddle with things.

Peter Hook wouldn't qualify as obsessive touching of the mixer...more like ridiculous and pathetic. Still delivers the lulz though :haha:
