Sean Tyas seemed very appreciative that we had gone to see him in NY this past August.

He was doing a back to back with Simon Patterson and he was coming over and just shooting the with us when he wasnt spinning. He was pretty thankful that we had made the trip from toronto to see him. Mind you...that could be because there was about only 80 people there that night. lol

But he was also really nice when we saw him in Montreal too.

I've yet to meet anyone who wasn't cool. even oakenfold was pleasent enough when i met him back in 2000 at the height of his popularity

I've met a bunch international DJ's this past summer and I would say the most humble by far (that I've met) is:

Christopher Lawrence. This past summer after playing his set at the Guvernment we both just sat at the edge of the stage and talked about music for a bit. Real down to earth cool guy.

Nic Fanciulli is awfully nice, and Sander Kleinenberg too. Max Graham is a great guy with a great sense of humor.

Yes. Not only is he a down-to-earth guy but he puts out free mixes every month. I suppose you could say it's just promo for him but I still think he works ridiculously hard to just make music as opposed to money.

I think actions speak louder than words, personally. Some guys distinguish themselves by doing a lot of work for loyal fans without any strong incentive for monetary or celebrity gain (i.e. that tiny little Orkidea party at Slimelight years ago), while others come across as humble on account of their perfectionism and never thinking that they did a good enough job (that would be Danny Howells - although who can say for sure how sincere that is?)

But really, all DJs are human beings, and most DJs, like most human beings, are pretty humble when you get down to the metal. There are only a tiny handful who come across as really stuck-up. I won't name names, because I think everybody knows.

Just talking about which ones are "humble" already seems to be elevating them to some special status. Of course they're humble - they should be. Not like anybody talks about which Nobel prize winners or professional athletes are humble.

you haven't read any interviews that howell's has given, have you?
look at the one on RA in particular if you want to know what kind of human being he is. his actions speak far louder than any normal dj's would.
