Hi,
I m using Mac since a half year. within the last 2 weeks I decided to switch all my music-production stuff on my mac pro.
First I added a VST / AU folder for all my plug-ins
HD / programms / VST+AUs
But this morning I installed a view more and now the whole folder is gone.
I had trouble before that installing the rob papen blue as a VST instrument. In ableton the Blue was shows as an AU-Instrument and I could not open it - of course as I installed it as VST. All the time I got the information that my mac could not open that AU-unit.
Later my whole folder was gone.
obviously I have to install everything again...
My Question is now:
Where do you install your PLug-INs on your Mac ? is there anything I have to be patient on ?
thanks |

Plug-ins ALWAYS into:
Mac Hd > Library > Audio >Plug-ins
Vst in Vst
AU in Component
NOWHERE else if you want it to work properly |

| yeah mate it's not the same as for the PC, you have to let the AUs install automatically, then the sequencer (whatever one you're using) will scan the location: Mac handles it, not like PCs where you have to go to so much effort putting them all in one folder :p |

hi,
thanks
I found that folder now!
The Case is now that I deleted the Rop Papen Files and re-installed the Plug-In. It is of course now in the VST folder like Lolo stated.
But still in ableton I get the informatin that "Mac can not open the AU Blue" - how can I change that in ableton ?
I already linked the right folder under the preferences, but still the mistake is present in ableton.
I guess the Rop Papen is installed somewhere where all the AU-files are installed. Can anyone tell where the AU-Plug-Ins might be located ??
