| so due to the lack of anything else interesting going on we might be thinking about hitting up giant for nye....except that my friend doesn't have a driver's license. will they accept a US passport as a form of ID? |

need a definite answer though, because he says some places won't take his passport....i'm pretty sure he can get in, he just needs to be sure before spending money on a ticket. anyone who has promoted for giant or had previous experience with this know? |

They let my friend in with a passport last year. EDM events in touristy areas are pretty lenient with passports since they attract the international crowd.
Some OC clubs won't take them, and I know Wavehouse in San Diego won't either. But your friend should be fine. |

| in theory they have to accept it as it is a legal form of identification. sometimes you get uninformed/ignorant security personnel....i would say if somehow your friend has a problem go to another security person or ask for a supervisor. |

my girlfriend was using an international ID last year to Tiesto NYE Giant, but again we came around 12.03am after the countdown, and there was no line.
and like Cool1g said, if your friend has a problem getting in, I would go to the supervisor... |

If it's a passport (booklet), than yes, they have to accept it. But if it's one of those Border Crossing/VISA issued by INS (Like the one below), they CAN'T ACCEPT IT. That's because ABC doesn't recognize it as a legal form of ID. However, most clubs will let you in with it.

You should be fine. Send an email to [email protected]. Hopefully they can get back to you. Everything is crazy right now. I'm having trouble getting a hold of anyone today. |

| if it helps, in Vegas for NYE last year, Empire would *not* let my wife in with her (Brazilian) drivers license, and would *only* accept a passport (besides a US drivers license)...can't see why they wouldn;t take it....except for the security being uninformed and never traveled outside the country, which is indeed possible. |
