Chimay Cinq Cents FTW.

I've yet to try Cinq Cents. I did get a chimay glass afterall at Specs.

Do you like any New Belgium beers? Have you had Carlsberg?

I have yet to give Carlsberg a taste.

Here's the reason why I've drifted away from "New Belgium" beer and actual "Belgian" beer. New Belgium brewery is located in Fort something (cant remember) , Colorado, and their hops are grown in CO and not imported from outside the country. I do like a Fat Tire every now and then, but I lose interest in the beer really quick, and that is mainly because when I started distributing for Authentic Beverage 2 years ago, I was also invited and became member of many breweries both in and out of Texas, Independent Brewery (on 71 between Austin and Fulshear I think it is) being the first brewery ever visited. On of the first go, I tried wheat ales and mildy hopped beer and loved them. Then, at Central Market in Austin during a beer tasting, I encountered Bosteels of Belgium and Huyghe Brewery of Melle. Dude, I can't tell you how much better the hops and barley is overseas than it is here. I mean, I don't know what the hell they put in it, but from the minute you smell the aromas of the beer, you know you're in for a big one.

Long story short, I became accustomed to the taste of international booze, especially those with high ratings. I still enjoy beers from the US, like "Milk Stout" made by Left Hand based off in Colorado. If you've never had lactose-based beer, run to Specs and get you the Left Hand Mixed Sampler. Sawtooth Ale (part of that sampler) is pretty hoppy, but you'll see it tastes just like Fat Tire because of its origin. Now...don't get me wrong. I don't go out and "party" with these kinds of beers. I mean this is expensive and it's gone WAY up since I used to distribute the . But, if you aren't afraid of trying new things and want to give some of these beers a taste, run to the Specs (Houston) on Hwy 6, or in the Clear Lake area the one that's near Nasa Road One, or by downtown the Specs warehouse, and lay down $20 for a bottle of Urthel Quadrium and Tripel Karmeliet, or if you want to go a little stronger, get you a small bottle of Scaldis and a 750 ml bottle of KWAK or St. Berardus' Abt.12. I'm sure you'll thank me later.

:D

Arrogant is nice. Try Satan Double IPA or Great Divide's Titan IPA. Drink with a burger and you'll be in heaven.

no prob bob.

What I really wanna know is who the hell is the guy from the Sam Adams brewery that has now started his own beer.

Apparently this cat lives in Conroe, TX and used to be a master brewer at Sam Adams. He left, and started his own beer. They sell the beer at Specs and you will usually find them near Shiner's and such. the cans are maroon with some blue and silver I think.
