Best MP3 mixing software for a beginner?

Beat matching. I have a long way to go....
Until today - I've never tried to mix anything. Today I gave Mixxx a try (free)...and man, what a wreck. I bought some fun stuff from Beatport and Beatsource...and would love to throw it together.
Is there anything better than Mixxx around? (That doesn't cost $300, and will work for simple mixing)
I'm just wanting to make some mix CD's - not DJ. It's amazing how much more appreciation I have for artists and DJ's after today.
Again - this is Day 1 for me, and I know I have a long way to go... |

seriously mate, your not gonna get a proper answer in here.. so let me be the first.
a program i have Native instruments, Traktor. im sure you can find a demo of it somewhere, then find a working crack for it, im not gonna post that here tho, as its not condoned by tranceaddict.
you will need 2 soundacards, or atleast a standalone soundcard along with your onboard soundacard on your motherboard.
also... if you would have been willing to pay 300 bucks for that mixxx program as a last resort, then id probably looking through some Ad's and see if you can pick up some cheapo real turntables, makes the whole experience much more enjoyable. or even yet, if you cant afford to shell out for vinyls everyweek, get some CD decks, but theyre |

you can get a cheap soundcard with 4 mono outputs.
try ESI maya 4/4
this will allow you to have 2 channels like a traditional dj setup, routing each from your software should be very easy.
also a cheap midi interface controlling perameters such as eq, channel faders can be bought for like 100 bux as well

it depends.. if you have 2 soundcards already.. OR your onboard soundcard built into mother board AND an extra one. then no.. you just need 2 soundcards so your PC can differentiate between what it should be playing through headphones and what through speakers |
