Hi Everyone,

We are heading to Montreal this weekend for our anniversary.
We are looking for a nice classy restaurant with romantic atmosphere and reasonable prices. My GF is vegetarian, so it should also have something on the menu she could enjoy.

Any recommendations? Since we are not from Montreal a phone number or a website would help finding the place.

Thank you guys!!

classy restaurant, reasonably priced and sort of vegetarian.

hmm....

check out Gandhi in Old Montreal (230 St Paul Ouest)

the # is 514-845-5866

plus you both can check the menu on at: www.restaurantgandhi.com

you need to include your price range.

I have tons of recommendations but yeah...we need to know your definition of ''reasonable prices''

$100 per person including wine?
Beings
Yes around $100 a person including wine.

not really for the op but ate there with my gf last night.

the wine list is very good, the prices outstanding, and if any of you are every in the armpit of montreal aka lasalle i highly suggest it.

my gf went simple with a filet mignon in madascar pepper sauce (served with rappini and poached beet) and an arugula salad, i decided to take the "degustation" special, a menu consisting of a broad sample of many of their dishes. It was 45$ and way too much food.

for that ridiculously low price i ended up getting:

entrees
toasted baguette with green pea pesto and wild boar sausage.
beef and truffle carpaccio (so good!)
scallop and calimari carpacio
foie gras a la creme brulee

pasta course.
tagliatelle with crushed tomatoes, roasted galic and porcini mushrooms accompanied by one of the best premium olive oils i have ever tasted.
spinach gnocchi in a goat cheese reduction.
lobster and king crap risotto with a lobster bisque sauce

main
pan seared filet mignon with melted gorgonzola cheese in a porto reduction.
lamb shank in wine sauce
porcelet (baby pig) in a white wine and truffle reduction.
glazed carrots, rappini and poached beet.

with a bottle of liberty school cabarnet sauvignon and table made brazillian coffees (made at the table like at casa napoli) it cost only 140$ without tip.

totally awesome.

Try Cafe Via Dante. It's a wonderful restaurant and everything there is made from scratch to their Grandmother's specs.
