I'm not into this kind of comparison but, given the importance of the new year here in Brazil, I find it hard to believe that it is bigger in the US.
I could me mistaken, but I can't imagine American dressing all the same, for example (here we all dress in white for the countdown). |

What I meant by that is that the new year is pretty much a social event, and I've got the impression that this is not quite the same in the US.
There are these traditions we all follow, and that gives the party some more importance to society in general. It's not just young people partying. |

Damn fireworks scaring my dog.
I'm still recovering from the strange symptoms which I seemed to get after watching too much Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (maybe I just have the Hinamizawa Syndrome :nervous: :nervous: ) so I'll just stay home alone with my dog for this new year.
