I went to San Diego to a friends house for a little bit and then went downtown to a club called the Red Circle if I'm not mistaken. It's actually right next to Belo.

The scene there was pretty cool and they had a good countdown too. Nothing to extreme, but my plans were to take it easy this year so it worked out perfect.

My only complaint is that I was with some friends who could care less about the music we were listening to so it was a New Years without EDM.

I think I'm going to start going down to SD more often. Downtown was a lot of fun!!

I wish you were. It def needed more of a house crowd. Donald Glaude and a fairly empty 3rd floor was no good.

My first time at Kress. The underground room and the boojie rooftop were nice. But the levels in between not so much. I had a fever earlier in the day so I really had to push myself to get out.

They asked and I was gonna do it, but as usual you got some pretty boy thinking he knows more about event marketing than me.LOL The terms were total bull and I rather sit and do nothing than to deal with yet another shady person in this industry.

I heard horror stories about the door situation too. :nervous:

Went to Libertine to start the night as ATOMIC MIKE and the APARTMENT DJs were spinning at 9P.

Dropped by King King to say hi to Sue and the GROOVEJUNKIES at 1a.

Went to Downtown Warehouse party with DJ HEATHER until 7am.

Did NOT encounter any lines at all to enter a venue, or to go to the restroom, or the bar. My idea of a perfect NYE :tongue3

I got reviews for so many events it was funny, not sure why people felt compelled to share with me as I felt stress free for the first time in 5 years. I sat alone on a sidewalk somewhere in Hollywood for a moment, took a shot of my pepsi and prayed for a better year and better health. It was a truly the best NYE in a long time, fog and all, alone and realizing that in 2008, people who called themselves friends showed their true colors when I needed them the most, people kicked me when I was down. I know it seems depressing but I realized my faults and my strengths, it was a great moment to reflect upon and for once in many years I felt no sadness or anger, it was peaceful. :) :)

I'm very glad to hear that.

I had an amazing experience during the countdown @ avalon. For the entire year of 2008, I immersed myself in the teachings of Eckhart Tolle. During the countdown, I was in tune with the inner-energy field of my body. At the same time, I was the "Watcher" of thought as opposed to being identified with it. The last 20 seconds or so of 2008, ego completely dissolved and Awareness shined through. For many years, it was ego that obscured peace, love, and joy.. thus, all that beauty (which had no opposite) was on the forefront rather than backburner. I was One with everything that surrounded me. I knew with absolute conviction that nothing in this world of form matters as much as ego makes it out to be.

Of course, that experience wasn't a permanent state of mind. Ego came back the next day. But from now on, I welcome and allow ego/thought to be as it is. There's just one difference and it's a significant one.. I am not my ego. I am not my thoughts. I am the space/stillness/presence/awareness.. temporarily appearing as a form of Life.

Funny how all this happened @ Avalon out of all places.
