To open up my own practice and be a super smart, knowledgeable, expert NP. I also want to live in an old house.

hopefully sometime in the next 15-20 years...
-get really smart (grad school/research/etc)
-get really rich (startup/lottery/anything else - i'll take it :-)
-spend all day working on math/cool problems/art, meeting interesting people, enjoying a comfortable life doing what I like without worrying about a "job"/money
-make a difference in some way that matters to people, rather than pursuing self-indulgent intellectual/financial/etc goals

To have a dream!

My own holding company. I will become very very very prosperous. Already on my way towards this goal.
Mattsanity
to own a big house near the beach, smoking excessively on the balcony looking at the beach while my chick is at my side, saying chill out matt, thats enough hits. let's roll together and have unprotected sex on the soothing sand while the stars shine bright.

now aint that a scenario?

Getting married at 26, having two kids, earning my degree, getting a nice stable 9-to-5 job to pay off a decent car and a nice house in the suburbs with a nice little white picket fence, a dog and some friendly neighbours - that is basicly my worst nightmare. If I end up like this, my life will have been a complete failiure.

I want to find my own way through life without having to resort to some stupid master plan setting up ridiculous expectations that only lead to disapointement. Have enough cash to sustain my very basic needs (basicly 1000$/month), and then a little extra for travelling. Leading a completely stress-free life at my own pace.

You can have goals without them being ridiculous in nature, or merely settling for mediocrity. :p

Absolutely, and I do have goals. But my goals are vague and flexible. Unrealistic goals are usually specific to the extreme. You know, like bitches who freak out because the flowers they ordered for their wedding isn't the same color as they'd been dreaming about since they were little. That's the kind of crap that makes people so stressed out and depressed all the time.

Lol, true. Didn't realize that's what you meant.
