I just came back from Tiesto in Montreal (Resolution 09): it was an awesome show and my first trance event! Actually I just woke up after sleeping all day :-)
The crowd was great, very energetic, big fans of Tiesto and obviously there for the music and nothing else. There was one thing that I saw that I was curious about though.. There were a few groups of 2 to 4 people here and there, guys were topless and girls usually wearing very little, who were massaging each other (one person was massaging the person in front of them, and so on). I didn't know what to make of it.
My first idea when I saw a couple doing it was that the person receiving the massage was on a bad trip and needed comforting.. but when I saw 4 people doing it, I wasn't sure what to make of it.
The other theory I heard was that they were just sore from dancing, and the massage was simply a way to make them feel better -- but the venue last night had seats, so they could have simply went to sit down.
Any ideas? (And here's a picture of the crowd from last night. There were about 3 times as many people as I could fit in one picture.)

Thanks for the replies guys, I don't think I've ever had a forum post replied so quickly.
Is there any drug in particular that people like to do this on? I know e is big in the dance scene in general and that its effects enhance empathy, sensuality, etc., but I don't know what else is out there.
