LA Times Coverage of Together As One : Armin Only:

That's right, absolutely nothing! They reviewed Giant Maximus, The Edison, Wiltern Theatre, and some warehouse parties, but no mention of Together as One with Armin, which probably had more people than all of these other ones combined!

"When it came to dancing, though, the place to be was Giant Maximus, presented by KCRW-FM (89.9). Thousands of people gathered in a 7-acre section of downtown to listen to DJ sets from Paul Oakenfold, Moby and a host of other electronica luminaries amid a full-scale carnival atmosphere."

LA Times also put 48 pictures online of various NYE parties, and again, no photo coverage of Together as One with Armin:

For anyone who's read LA Times for awhile, this is nothing new. Their coverage is very biased against Trance/Techno music and even for EDC this year they didn't mention any of my favorites (PVD, Menno, Eddie Halliwell) but rather put up glowing reviews of Benassi, who I thought was boring.

LA Times is a fairly liberal (and bankrupt) newspaper that provides news and entertainment coverage for millions of people in the Los Angeles are and beyond. To me, the fact that they chose not to provide any reviews or photos from Together as One is similar to only covering one presidential candidate and not mentioning the other!

I wrote a letter to the editor, but they're not going to listen to just one person. If just 1% of the people who showed up to Together as One wrote a letter also, they'd have at least 200 letters that there was an epic NYE party like no other which was completely overlooked!

Letters to the editor can be submitted through this link:

or just email [email protected].

In the Netherlands, big events like Sensation and Trance Energy are covered on TV, radio and in print. America is so backwards sometimes....

they are biased but they write about Giant and Oakenfold? okay.....1% =2000, 200,000 people there? LOL

i thought people were against going mainstream?

yeah, my math was off, fixed! I call it censorship.

Isn't the real reason behind the coverage of Giant Maximus because of Giant actually asking the LA Times to cover their event?
