my turntable keeps skipping!

i don't know if i forgot something after so many years of not touching the deck's configuration, just playing, but i'm lost.

i have an old Mk2, it's a bit beat up, but it works well. i'm using an Ortofon Concorde on it. it's always worked fine.

yesterday i have this girl over who wanted to learn how to mix. first, we listened to a vinyl i gave her for her bday once, played perfectly, when that was done, i got a breaks record, and put it on the deck, didnt put the stylus on it tho.

turned around for a second, she had grabbed the tonearm, and was going to put the needle on. i tell her to hold it right there, put the tonearm back. then i show her how to properly do it.

from this point on, ALL the records skipped. all of em. tried adding more weight, changing the stylus tip, re-calibrating the weight at 0, and then adding. she didn't pull at it or anything, at least from where i could see.

help? what to do?
