Traktor Scratch Pro problem with Pitch

. When I move the pitch on the pioneer cdjs I feel like the range of the bpms on Traktor are jumping too much. For example: If Im at 127 and I go to slow it down a tiny bit, it will jump to around 126 right away. Much more than if I was just playing regular cd's. Is this just how the program is or is there a way to adjust the pitch, so when I move the pitch up or down it will only speed up or slow down a tiny bit?

If anyone could help...Thanks

i'm also trying to work around this. i posted about the pitch bending as well and someone told me to use the "pitch lock" which doesnt lock pitch very well at all. ill keep searching for answers to both though i was working on figuring out the pitch lock first :P

Not sure about TS, but on T3 you can adjust the fine pitch control on the Preferences ;)

Do you mean "key lock"? So the song stays on the same key despite increments or decrements in pitch?

That works perfectly for me in Traktor 3.

OK, apparently it's an issue with Traktor Scratch Pro, that was not present on the earlier version, perhaps you could switch?

ugh i guess ill just wait for an update :( i got traktor, mainly, so that i could stop burning cd's. and here i am, waiting for a pitch update and burning CDs.

what i dont get is how pioneer can get the pitch lock perfect years before and NI cant release a good version of it with their latest and most prized software?

I'm confused... in your original post you mention the bpm indicator "jumps" with small pitch slider movements. If you're using timecode CD's, this seems very odd to me. Or are you using some other CDJ with MIDI capability (very different things)?

As for key lock, you can try changing the algorithms in the preferences. I find that it works "ok", but certainly has some artifacts.

Could you clarify the problem?

nope im using pioneer cdj800mk2's

and where are the algorithms located? :X sorry for being a noob but i cant find anything like that lol

I don't have my laptop with me at the moment... but it's in one of the preference panes. They have an "algorithm" setting, as well as a "range" setting.

Your latency and deck cache setting can make a difference too if you have dropouts.
