Akridrot, I'm not really sure what you're getting at. You mention something that seems like intellectual shallowness or lack of ambition -- like "I'm great because I read a few books!" But then you go on to rant about Hillary Clinton crying, which seems kind of unrelated to me, more about emotional control than depth of intellect...

I do however find that women tend to be less obsessive than guys about hobbies generally, whether intellectual or no. It seems like women are less likely to do things that normally have little social payoff, like being a music or technology geek, for example. I'm not really sure why that is.

Why did you reply to this seriously? But I'll reply to your last point. Music has a huge social payoff.

I remember an article saying that men reach the height of their creativity before they settle down, and it suggested that this is in order to impress women to find a mate. Something like that.

I'm tired, this is just a brief, vague reply...

I'm not really talking about playing / composing music, but just being obsessed with music generally. Like guys with huge record collections who read music mags or blogs all the time. Also, playing music almost never has any social payoff anyway, especially if the kind of music you make is unpopular where you live. Then it can actually be detrimental socially ("You like that techno stuff?").

I have always been, I guess you could say, fascinated by this. It seems that, in general, women don't seem to have hobbies/interests whereas guys are the exact opposite. I am not trying to be a dick, but its hard to find girls who are interested in things besides buying clothes, wearing makeup, watching TV, and getting drunk.

So that begs the question: why can't you attract a female of higher calibre? :conf:

Not really, no. You just clearly lack the basic, kindergarten-level skills of seeking and attracting women with actual substance.

Who says I haven't? I am just saying that I have noticed that women IN GENERAL don't seem to have many hobbies/interests compared to men. I know plenty of women who do have hobbies and interests, but even they are not as obsessed about their hobbies as guys, as previously mentioned by someone else in this thread. However, I know a lot more women who are still really nice/cool people but really don't seem to do anything unique.

I think my initial post was worded poorly by myself. I apologize... I gave the impression that I think all girls were just bimbo retards, which was not what I was trying to say. What I was trying to say is: there are a lot of high quality women out there who for whatever reason don't seem to have many hobbies/interests. They are really nice people and fun to talk to and hang out with, but when you stop and think about it, they don't really do much aside from go to school/work, drink on the weekends, go shopping, etc.
