Some older people take the ID Check as a compliment, because they think that the employee thinks that they look younger than they are, when sometimes it's just business policy.
Others, like your good man r5a here, obviously do not. |

| I'd hardly call Kingston a suburb of Toronto. It's over 2 hours away. |

actually I'm 26, over here in toronto older clubs are called 25 and olders. I started hitting then when i was about 24-23 because of bouncer friends and hanging out with older crowds. Once I went 25+ I never went back to a 19+ club again |
+10 Same here man. There were some placs in Florida I preferred to go to that were 21 for girls, but 25 for guys, and it was so much better. The girls liked it better too because there were actual grown up adult men there and not grab-ass boys just creeping out of their teen years. |

Kingston is not a suburb of Toronto. It is over 2 hours away and is pretty much a driver's "halfway point" when driving from Montreal. You are deluded.

By law they have to check everyone to confirm they have ID. |
yup, i've worked in bars for years
it's a huge fine if anyone (over or underage) is caught in the building without proper id
i've had police and AGLC come into the club and check everyone's ids on more than one occasion
so common practice is to simply id everyone as they come in, regardless of how old they look, they need to have that little piece of plastic |

Really? I have a friend who is significantly under five feet tall and looks as though she belongs in middle school. How old is she? 27. Yeah, really simple, huh?

proofz. go. |
When I worked as a cashier, the checker next to me didn't check the ID of a person he was selling to. It happened to be an underage person working for the Liquor Control Board doing a bust. What happens five minutes later? Two officers come into the store and, in the middle of ringing somebody up, pull the guy right out of the checkstand, no questions asked, and arrest him for selling alcohol to a minor.

You're an idiot. As much as it sucks IDing is important, not IDing can lead to people losing their jobs or the company losing a ton of money etc. Is it that big a deal to open your wallet and flash your ID? You're not even complaining about fake IDs or anything, you're just bitching about getting ID'd. Who the cares, get over it. |
... this.
Many places have laws that require you to check the ID of those who look under 27 or 30. Most, if not all of these places are quite frequently checked upon to make sure they're doing it right, regardless of whether or not YOU have personally seen it. When these places do not conform to the local/national liquor laws, there are both hefty fines and/or jail time that are possible.
Now, don't you think it's worth the ten seconds it takes for you to get your ID out and put it away, in order for your favorite liquor establishments to survive?
ing self-righteous idiot. |
