I've seen it cut both ways. Sometimes ppl are just joking with jabs but at other times you get more truthful advice here than irl. Most of the time your not going to get truthfulness from family/friends. Hell if he was my friend and he said hey check out this tattoo what do you think? I'd lie and say looks cool dude. btw, I don't buy the I don't care what anybody thinks line. Why show us if that was the case? Chinese/Japanese characters are the most cliche thing you can possible get. |

No, no, see this is where you've got it all wrong. The internet was not made for sharing your life with strangers.
I find it funny that you call the O.P. a douche for posting girlfriend advice when you have a picture of yourself for your avatar and are busy posting about being a borderline alcoholic. Have you ever considered the fact that a potential employer in your future might be a member or reader of this site? That's just one detrimental consequence I can think of right now, but I'm sure there are many. |

i wasn't referring to the original poster about the g/f advice. i was referring to the alt someone created and made the "ex g/f advice" thread.
and as far as future and/or current employers are concerned in regards to my alcohol problem; I have no shame about it. and if they want to ask me, then so be it. the AF already knows about my problems, in fact, its the referrel they gave me that is helping myself get better, not only with alcohol abuse, but with depression as well.
but i can understand where you are coming from. there are people out there who can use whatever you say against you in the "Real" world out there away from the ssafety of a computer monitor. and i know that some people do not wish to share intimate details of their life with random people on the internet, and that's fine.
but on the other hand, if people DO want to share, that's their right to do so. I guess unless they live somewhere that doesn't allow that right...in which case, then, i don't know what to say.
