no it doesn't - it takes:
1. high ticket prices to force people to have a good time and convince people of talent
2. lasers
3. lots of sound (youll see a lot of these people commenting on the BASS MAN FEEL THE BASS MAN and then theyll crank up their car stereos and turn on their neon licenseplate holder)
4. skimpy slutty bimbos, as objects of sexual desire for the mostly male crowd
5. emotional insecurity and teen angst
6. alcohol
with house music, we don't really need a crowd to have a party, just a funky beat and you to get it started. it wont take a lot of thought for you to do it, you just feel the groove, and baby, then you move it.

Also, I think house music is actually more accessible than most trance because of its rhythmic emphasis. Even if people don't "get" the thrill of synth noises or breakdowns, pretty much everybody can enjoy a nice beat. My gf basically never listens to dance music on her own, but she told me she enjoys house more than trance because it feels more "lively" in terms of rhythm.

Do you actually know how many people dance(d) on (acid) house and trance (and more)? Or that it even is possible someone likes both (and even more)?

I used to go out on Friday to a club which then played House/Techno and on Saturday to a club which played Techno/Trance in a smaller area (1000 people) and guess what, many party people visited and danced at both clubs.

both forms are very accessable. I play a range of genre's, but mostly both of these. The problem I find is that no one likes the Trance very much. Most get into the dirty beats. Sucks when I want to play progressive, but the people don't want to be bored during peak time.

I can't remember party's in similar area's where better or much different with house than with trance. In my early years of going out, trance wasn't played a lot, just house and techno. That changed over the years though.

Do you think this is the same all over the world?
I guess this was the same over here in the 90s when trance wasn't really popular, but I can't compare it to other countries.

I was 15 when I danced on Big Fun, I even have it on cd. First year I went out to a disco. Also remember Theme from S' - Express S on the same cd :)

i think the groove/rythm/dirty sounding beats etc that most of you are referring to in house music, is the emphasis of a heavy pronounced bassline in these tracks, which is another thing that trance lacks...
Martin Roth for eg brought the monster bassline in most of his 'nu-style' mixes in 08, and these tracks blew the roof off in clubs here... havent seen such pronounced basslines in trance for a while...

If you ask me , the difference between Electro House And Trance is pretty straightforward.
Electro house makes you want to dance , kinda like hip hop and all those dance music.
Trance gives you LOTS of energy , like that alphazone song . You just want to scream xD.
