Yes yes yes. Even though I don't like it THAT much, I think you and I are on the same page...this song is a near perfect closer. |

I've used a signature opener and closer of the same song for many of my sets.
I'll open up with the classic Carmina Burama Oh Fortuna Trance remix.
At about the 1:20 mark I build into it with a hard take me away beat and take it from their. Then work the set according to personal taste or crowd influence.
Then at the end of the set i go back to that track and work it in at about the 3:50 mark and let it ride out as the end is very soft and will allow the next DJ to choose his own set and feeling.
I'll use my sounds CD to add in a train wistle at the beginning and end of my set for added ambience of a train ride beginning and ending.

If you haven't, I'd recommend worrying about other things... track selection should be at the bottom of your list (for now!). |
