Bruno Pronsato LIVE! [Hello?Repeat, Perlon, Orac, Musique Risquee]
Berlin, Germany
Bruno Pronsato (aka Steven Ford) has taken several giant steps over the past few years toward the peak of the experimental house/techno mountain. Both on vinyl and onstage, Pronsato has kept up a hectic pace of production and performance, catalyzing listeners and crowds across Europe, the United States, and beyond. Twelve-inches on esteemed labels like Orac, Hello Repeat, Musique Risquée, Philpot, and Telegraph - as well as his lauded Half Hawaii project on Perlon with Sammie Dee - further elevated his stature and built his international fan base.
A sound scientist whose work is equally playful and rigorous, Pronsato deploys a canny use of space and idiosyncratically fashioned rhythms to disorient and build suspense-like some 21st-century Miles Davis or Eric Dolphy of the laptop. Despite being a minimal-techno artist, Pronsato offers a palette that's as full of unexpected patterns and meticulously rendered textures as a Wassily Kandinsky painting.
Pronsato's compositions unsettle in original ways, yet they also slyly tickle funnybones. Often both humorous and erotic, his cuts are the wild cards that adventurous DJs pull out when they want to take the dance floor to strange new levels of motion. Therefore, Pronsato's releases have become elite selectors' secret weapons of beguilingly baffling quirkiness that still move asses.
As demand for his music has waxed, Pronsato has accordingly increased his productivity while maintaining his usual exacting quality control standards. His Hello Repeat album Why Can't We Be Like Us was voted into the Top 10 Albums of 2008 by Resident Advisor. As RA writer Peter Chambers astutely states, "Pronsato has spared nothing in this work- there is nothing missing, lacking, insufficient.. the bar has just been raised."
Not a DJ, Pronsato devotes all of his time to electronic music composition and live performances. Pushing the envelope using advanced programming software such as Max/MSP, Pronsato's live performance devastates audiences with its uniquely intricate yet psychedelic and soulful grooves.

Kate Simko LIVE! [Spectral Sound, Kupei Musika]
Chicago, IL US
Chicago-based Kate Simko is a classical pianist turned house/techno producer. Kate draws from a wide range of influences, combining her sense of melody and structure with her background in Chicago house and Detroit techno. Whether playing live or DJ’ing, Kate’s selection maintains warmth and soul, full of funky bass lines and loose rhythms.
Growing up studying piano and music theory, Kate discovered underground dance music during her teens and began DJ’ing on college radio in the late 90's. In 2001, Kate moved to Santiago, Chile, where she continued her studies in music composition and met Andres Bucci. Bucci and Simko combined forces and recorded two records together as Detalles (Traum , Kupei Musika).
Back in her hometown of Chicago, Kate is continually striving to evolve as an artist, combining her wide range of influences into her own music, creating a unique personal sound that crosses genre borders, blending rich textures and melodies with funky bass and groove.
