Its a win win for both Manley and UAD. Its no lie UAD is coming up the ranks as an important tool in the record making process amongst countless producers and engineers. And UAD has helped bring a new market of attention to old analogue compressors and EQ's and other equipment UAD is emulating.
Initially it has created some competition towards analogue but at the same time brings marketing towards the real hardware. A hardcore audio person who has the money will be very much interested in analogue more than ever after using the DSP emulation of it, and that is a win win for both sides. Im getting me some UAD stuff this year and looking forward to what they've done with the Empiracal Labs Fatso and the Manley Labs emulation. |
