Neither; a mixture of incredible engineering and a talented pilot.

Planes are meant to glide when they lose the engines, so as long as there isn't any major physical damage to the aerodynamics a good pilot can guide the plane to safety. It is pretty amazing he was able to land it on water so smoothly :)

I think a little bit of both. :)

None!

How bout the fact that he was just a really good ing pilot!

exactly. planes are engineered for these instances. the pilot was trained for such landings and executed it perfectly. this tells you that the people who design and fly plane deserve a lot of credit....

the only lucky thing was that the plane was close to water...

god? okay sure ;-) luck? nope....

except for the fact that successful water landings are EXTREMELY rare, especially in airliners like this...

Well, int he other ones I've seen on video they didn't glide in straight but hit the water at a bad angle.

If the water had been choppy, it could have been entirely different too.

Anyhow,t he pilot used to be the head of some safety commission or something like that, so the passengers were lucky to have him because if anyone was gonna know exactly what to do w/o hesitation, it was gonna be him!

If it was due to God, the clouds would have parted and two giant Pterydactyls with laser beams and missles would have swooped down and picked up the plane and carried it back to the gate at the terminal.

fools all of you...

it was superman!

wasn't there an xmen episode like this? :p

there's no such thing as luck, ability or physics, only god's will and satan's trickery. clearly jesus liked the people on this plane more than other crashes, probably because they prayed harder.
